Super Duplex 2507 Sheet, UNS S32750

Super Duplex 2507 sheet in UNS S32750 (EN 1.4410) is the thin-gauge cold-rolled flat product, with thickness from 0.4 mm up to the 4.75 mm threshold that separates sheet from plate. Sheet is supplied as 2B mill finish (cold-rolled, annealed, descaled) for fabrication into chloride-service tanks, scrubber liners, FGD ductwork, heat-exchanger plates and the lighter pressure-vessel walls where 4.75 mm is more wall than the duty needs. TorqBolt stocks 2507 sheet at the Mumbai warehouse with EN 10204 Type 3.1 certificates and Type 3.2 third-party-witnessed on request.

Sheet follows EN 10088-2 (Werkstoff 1.4410, X2CrNiMoN25-7-4) for European supply and ASTM A240 designation S32750 for the lighter A240 thicknesses. NORSOK M-630 covers chemistry and ferrite. Sour-service certification per NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-3 is available.

    Forming and Welding Sheet

    • Cold forming: minimum bend radius equal to or greater than 1 times thickness for transverse bends. Spring-back is significant due to the 550 MPa yield.
    • Press-brake forming and roll-forming both work well; deep drawing is limited by the high yield-to-tensile ratio.
    • Welding: GTAW with ER2594 or ER2553 filler per AWS A5.9, autogenous welding only on thicknesses below 1.5 mm and only with controlled heat input.
    • Heavy fabrication should be solution annealed at 1040 to 1100 degrees Celsius and water quenched after welding for full corrosion performance.

    Super Duplex 2507 Sheet Applications

    • Heat-exchanger plates for chloride process, seawater and FGD service
    • Tank liners, scrubber liners and column internals in chemical processing
    • Light pressure-vessel walls and instrumentation panels
    • FGD ductwork, dampers and turning vanes
    • Architectural cladding in marine and coastal exposure zones

    Super Duplex 2507 Sheet FAQ

Where does sheet end and plate begin?

EN 10088-2 separates sheet (cold-rolled flat product) from plate (hot-rolled) at thickness less than 4.75 mm for sheet. ASTM A240 covers both forms but practical industry usage treats less than 4.75 mm as sheet and 4.75 mm and above as plate. The metallurgy and chemistry are identical; the rolling route differs.

    What mill finishes are available?

2B (cold-rolled, annealed, pickled, light skin-pass) is standard. BA (bright annealed) for decorative and food-grade applications. No. 4 (linished, satin) for visible architectural cladding. 2D (cold-rolled, annealed, pickled, no skin-pass) for deeper draws. All finishes meet the same chemistry and mechanical envelope.

    Can 2507 sheet be deep-drawn?

Limited. The yield-to-tensile ratio of duplex is high (around 0.7), which restricts deep drawing relative to austenitic 304 / 316. Shallow draws and bending work well; deep cylindrical draws may need intermediate annealing. Press-brake and roll-forming are the most practical 2507 forming routes.

Is 2507 sheet acceptable for FGD service?

Yes, super duplex 2507 sheet is widely used for wet flue-gas-desulfurization absorbers, quenchers and outlet ducts. The chloride and pH conditions in FGD scrubbers exceed the resistance of 316L and 6 percent moly austenitics; 2507 holds up where they pit.

    Does 2507 sheet contain copper?

No, copper is not an intentional alloying element in UNS S32750. ASTM A240 and EN 10088-2 permit 0.50 max as residual, not intentional. Copper-bearing super duplex (Zeron 100 S32760, Ferralium 255 S32550) is supplied as a different alloy on a separate certificate.
